Health and Safety
The units in Uruguay offer various training programs in occupational health and safety to ensure all employees know how to respond to risk situations. The training program on the automatic defibrillator, for example, helps to reduce the number of fatalities from cardiac arrest and to recognize the early warning signs of cardiorespiratory arrest.
Every year, all units conduct emergency simulations during both day and night shifts to orient employees on proper safety practices in adverse situations. The training programs included plant evacuations, rescue operations and first aid.
All plants also maintain emergency brigades for responding to emergencies. All training programs follow the standards of the Uruguay National Firefighter Department.
