Neutral Cattle Raising
This project implemented by Marfrig Beef Brazil aims to expand the offering of products originating from processes with neutral greenhouse gas emissions, especially of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O). After the pilot-phase in Coronel Pacheco (MG), the initiative was expanded to another six properties, whose pastures received tree saplings to fix carbon in the soil. In 2016, the first methane-neutral processing was conducted. The carbon footprint of the lot was of approximately 73.43 tons of CO2-equivalent, and the emissions were completely offset by trees.
